When you authorize PlanAI to access your calendars, we collect:

• User preferences (preferred study hours, timezone, study duration)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Sync and Display: Aggregate your calendar events into a unified view
• AI Analysis: Generate optimal schedules and task complexity analysis using OpenAI's GPT-4o
• Schedule Optimization: Create personalized study schedules respecting your preferences and calendar conflicts
• Conversational AI: Provide scheduling assistance through our chat interface
• Improve the App: Analyze usage patterns to enhance features and fix bugs
• Account Management: Manage your authentication and account settings
• Communications: Send you important updates about your account or the service

4. Data Storage and Retention

4.1 What We Store

• Your calendar events and task information are stored in our database
• Chat message history is stored for context and improvement
• Schedule blocks you create are stored persistently

4.2 How Long We Keep Data

• Calendar events are kept as long as they exist in your source calendars
• Tasks are kept until you mark them complete or delete them
• Chat history is retained for 90 days unless you delete it
• Account data is retained until you delete your account

4.3 After Analysis

We do not store raw calendar event data for longer than necessary for processing. Calendar data is used to generate schedules and then reference only by ID, not full content.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your information to third parties. Your data is only shared with:

• OpenAI: For AI-powered schedule analysis and generation (API calls only, no raw data storage)
• Google: When you authorize calendar access (standard OAuth flow)
• Service Providers: Database providers and infrastructure partners necessary to operate the App

6. Third-Party Services

6.1 Google Calendar

PlanAI uses Google Calendar API to read (not modify) your calendar events. Google's privacy policy applies to data Google collects: https://policies.google.com/privacy

6.2 OpenAI

We send your task information and calendar data to OpenAI's API for schedule optimization. OpenAI's privacy policy applies: https://openai.com/privacy

6.3 Infrastructure

Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure (Neon PostgreSQL, Vercel). Their privacy policies apply to data they process.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

• Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
• Encryption of sensitive data at rest
• Secure authentication via OAuth 2.0
• Regular security audits
• Access controls and role-based permissions

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

You have the right to access your personal data and receive a copy of it.

8.2 Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and associated data. Some data may be retained for legal compliance.

PlanAI is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we become aware of such collection, we will delete it immediately.
